ABOUT CHRISTIAN BRENNER
Since the 90s, Christian BRENNER has been a very active and prominent artist of the Parisian stage. Pianists such as Bill EVANS, Keith JARRETT, Fred HERSCH or Kenny BARRON inspire his style. However, composing is how he finds his genuine identity and his own style. In 2011, he discovered Brazil and performed there, including in Florianopolis. He created multiple projects around his music, which brought him to record and perform in France and abroad.
The music he is presenting today is the fruit of different musical scenes, enriched by his encounters. His philosophy is to give a larger space and the greatest freedom possible to the musicians. His purist-styled compositions also abound in harmonies and bring about some beautiful lyric and creative moments.
The way they breathe and manage the space while playing music are other elements that enable the musicians to find their place naturally.
The music of Christian BRENNER evokes a picturesque and very colourful world. Carried by a subtle and unique way of playing, acquired during his first years of piano, a sincere musical universe where musicians at the top of their art highlight the emotions and the experience.
Those ingredients make an authentic, a multi-coloured and a festive music, between jazz and world music. In 2011, his discovery of Brazil and his encounter with the trio of Cássio MOURA brought some exceptional inspirations, energies and rhythms to Christian BRENNER’s musical universe, materialized by a new album to be released in Brazil at the end of 2015. This last project, already presented in Brazil on the occasion of various festivals, is the outcome and the current representation of his musical evolution.
